Every time I look at this thing (it hangs on the wall beside the fireplace in the room where I work) I'm amazed. It's not just that the design department went to the trouble of constructing a fake meteorite then slicing it and carving a coded message onto it. It's that the coded message is correct, even though it never appears in the book. All the reader is told is what the message says (in English) and what the rules are for constructing the code. To my shame I can remember the names of none of the people in the design department...
